This beautiful French bronze Art Deco lamp was created in the 1920's during the height of the Art Deco period and is widely attributed to the works of sculptor Gerda Gerdago (1906-2004). Gerdago's career began as a costume designer for theatrical productions and then took those designs into sculpture.
One article indicates it is actually by the designer Ignacio Gallo in 1925 and is titled "Danseuse Des Indies" (https://www.collectorsweekly.com/stories/222500-danseuse-des-indies-by-i...). Regardless of whether designed by Gerdago or Gallo it is a stunningly beautiful work of functional art!
The lamp is depicting a costumed figural female with an Italian Murano Millefiori glass ball globe, raised on an Italian Portoro marble base.
The lamp is in excellent to very good condition with new wired silk cords, original on off switch, and without any cracks, chips or defects. This is an excellent piece of Murano glass art and it displays beautifully.
