Original French Art Deco Poster for Trouville by Maurice Lauro

This original French art deco vintage stone lithographic poster for the English Channel resort of Trouville was designed by Maurice Lauro (1878 - ) in 1927. Two “Flapper” ladies promenading on the boardwalk are catching everyone’s attention. The poster is signed in the plate “Lauro 27” and marked on the lower left margin “Devambez Socté. Anne.Paris Imp 52 ré Dicopson”. It is presented in an ebonized wood frame measuring 41” x 30” overall. The poster is in “A” condition.

French Art Deco Poster by Maurice Dufrene

This original vintage French art deco stone lithographic poster was designed by Maurice Dufrene (1876 - 1955). The poster advertises the 1930 opening an operetta by Manuel Rosenthal, titled “Rayon Des Soleries”. In addition to the poster, Dufrene also designed the sets and costumes for the operetta. The poster was printed by Chaix, Paris and is in excellent condition. It is presented in an ebonized wood frame and is 56” high and 41” wide overall

French Art Deco CYCLES DILECTA Poster by Georges Favre

This exciting vintage French art deco stone lithographic poster for Cycles Dilecta was designed ca. 1928 by Georges Favre. The image, in bright primary colors on a muted background exudes speed and power. The poster was edited and printed by Affiches Gaillard in Paris and Amiens, France. It is 45 ½" high and 29" wide and is presented in a 57" x 41" black and gold frame.

Pierre Fix Masseau French Art Deco Poster

This powerful French art deco stone lithographic poster was created in 1932 by Pierre Fix-Masseau (1905 - 1994) and reprinted from the original stones in 1943. Marked in the plate "Pierre Masseau 32" on the lower left. On the lower margin "Edita 12 Rue Dubanboy, Paris", and "Re D. Copson", "43" and "MP C2". The poster measures 39 ½" x 24 3/8".  

French Art Deco Vacances Poster by Marsas Streamline

A striking French art deco stone lithograph poster from the 1930's commissioned by two travel agencies. The poster urges the viewer to think of their vacation, consult the agencies and make their plans. The artist is Marsas and the poster was printed by Watelet, Paris. In a clear birch frame the poster measures 32" x 24".

French Art Deco Railway Cote d’Azur Travel Poster by Roger

This brilliant French art deco travel poster was created in 1926 by Guillaume Georges Roger (1867-1942). The "A" condition poster depicts an idlyic harbor scene. Produced for the French railway system, the poster is framed in a seamless custom gold leaf frame and measures 42-1/2" x 30-1/4" and 47 x 35 overall. Produced by Lucien Serre & Cie, the poster is signed "Guillaume Roger 1926" in the stone.

American Art Deco Poster By McKnight Kauffer

This stunning vintage stone lithographic American Art Deco poster for war prisoner aid was created by Edward McKnight Kauffer (1890 – 1954). The poignant image of a captured GI behind barbed wire and the appeal “You Can Set Their Spirit Free” is poster making at its best. McKnight Kauffer was born in the United States, settled in England in 1914, started working in posters in 1921 and returned to New York in 1940. The framed poster measures 25” x 18”.

Toni-Kola Poster

This French art deco stone lithographic poster was created in 1935 by Robys. The aperitif wine "Toni-Kola" is captured by two Technicolor macaws. This large (78 3/4" x 51 1/4" poster is in excellent condition, framed and ready tohang. The poster is signed in the stone "Robys 35"

Cognac Rouyer French Art Deco Poster

This striking vintage French art deco stone lithographic poster was created in 1945 for the Rouyer Guillet & Co., the manufacturers of Rouyer Cognac. The large (63" x 47") poster shows a silver deco winged figure atop a pink world guarding a bottle of the firm’s cognac. The starry sky behind her fades from cobalt to pale blue.  The poster is in A condition and laid down on linen.

French Art Deco Emprunt National Poster by Jean Carlu

A bold vintage art deco stone lithographic poster by the French master Jean Carlu (1900 - ). Liberty holds her shield protecting a man plowing behind his ox and a factory. The emphasis is to buy government bonds. Printed by Lucien Serre & Cie., Paris, the poster measures 18" ½ x 15" ½ (framed) in black lacquer.

French Art Deco “Le Magicien Moderne” Poster by George Condé

A very dramatic vintage stone lithographic poster for Solanis who advertises himself as "Le Magicien Moderne" in very deco lettering. Against a black background this exuberant art deco poster shows the joy of French liberation...red, white and blue birds soar from the magician's top hat, blue red and yellow flowers spring out and the flags of the allies appear as a streamer. Designed by the artist George Condé who also designed figures for Saint-Clement in Lorraine. The poster is signed "Geo Condé 1945" The poster measures 37" x 24 1/2".

French Art Deco Chapeaux Mossant Poster Designed by Olsky in 1928

This striking vintage French art deco original stone lithograph poster shows a stylish and mysterious Frenchman with his moustache just above a white hat. The poster is signed in the plate on the upper left "Olsky" and printed on the lower right border "Vercasson" and "Creation Frevrier 1928". The poster is 43" high and 31 ½" wide. It is presented in a ebonized wood frame 45" by 33 ½". The poster is in excellent condition.  

Leonetto Capiello French Art Deco Poster - Cognac Pellison

This dramatic French stone lithographic poster for Cognac Pellisson, ca. 1907 was done by Leonetto Capiello (1875 - 1942), an Italian who worked in France. The poster shows the image of a figure holding an oversized barrel of cognac against a black background. The poster is signed in the plate on the lower left "Cappiello" and in the right margin "Imp. Vercasson, Paris". It measures 47" x 32", and is presented in a black wood frame measuring 50" x 35" overall.

French Art Deco Poster

A French art deco stone lithographic poster by Marcel Feguide (1888 – 1968) for Aix-en-Provence. The poster, showing the town at sunset with the region’s famous tapered cypress trees, advertises the town’s curative waters as well as the Municipal Casino, open from November to May. The poster, which was printed by Moullot, Marseille in 1928 measures 50" x 35 ½".

Willi’s Wine Bar Poster

In 1935 the French art deco poster artist Adolphe Mouron Cassandre (1901-1961) created this striking image for an unknown beverage company. The image was not accepted. In 1984 Willi’s Wine Bar purchased the image from Cassandre’s Estate and used it for the first of their annual posters. The poster is printed on the bottom “© Henri Mouton, First Edition 1984, original printing”. The poster measures 39” x 27-1/2”. This is not a reproduction.

Airplane Poster

This Dutch art deco stone lithographic poster is the Nationale Luchtvaart School (National Flight School) and dates from the 1930’s. An airplane in shades of orange, gray and black is shown from an underneath in three quarters view giving a dramatic impression of speed. The poster measures 36” x 25 ½” and is framed in an ebonized frame measuring 43” x 33” overall.

Motorists Prefer Shell Poster

In 1935 Shell Oil’s publicity director Jack Beddington commissioned artist J.S. Anderson to create a stone lithographic poster for the “Prefer Shell” Series. Anderson responded with this image…one of pure graphic design and one of the most desirable of the whole Shell Oil Series. The poster measures 30” x 45” and is signed in the stone “Anderson 35”.

Original Gouache Painting for a Poster

An original American art deco design for a poster promoting posters in gouache. The painting is done in blue and red on a yellow ground and is signed C.L. Barber. Mercury, the messenger of the gods, promotes the idea that posers are “The Commercial Messenger”. The gouache measures 29” x 19 ½” and is presented in a gold frame.

Le Nouveau Journal Poster

This French art deco stone lithographic poster was created by G. Favre for Affiches Gaillard. Dated 1933 this poster for Le Nouveau Journal shows the paper covering France (and a good bit of Europe and Russia) with their slogan “The Great Modern Voice of Information”. The poster measures 36” x 28”.

Liquor-Medoc Poster

This French art deco stone lithographic poster by Henri Lemonnier was published and printed in 1938 by Bedos & Cie. In Paris. The Bordeaux liqueur was advertised as "The Liquor that Gladdens the Heart" and this theme is illustrated by a happily inebriated clown composed of yellow and orange hearts clutching a bottle of the liquor against a blue and green background. The poster measures 62" x 46".
