Pair of American Art Deco Corner Wall Sconces

This pair of American art deco corner wall sconces are from the 1930’s. The sconces are made of nickel plated brass with a milk glass shade. They are heavy and well constructed with a stepped final on top and bottom. Each is 17” high. 6” across and 4” deep. They have been replated and rewired.

Pair Henry Dreyfuss American Art Deco Train Light Sconces

Henry Dreyfuss (1904 – 1972) designed these sconces in 1938 for the famous “Twentieth Century Limited” train.  The aluminum fixtures hold a frosted glass globe which provided ambient light, clear circle lenses facing left and right provide direct lights for reading or if in a bathroom, applying makeup or shaving.  Manufactured by Luminator Inc of Chicago, the sconces have four vertical fluted “speed” lines and measure 9 ¾” x 5” wide and 3” deep.

Pair of American Art Deco Aluminum FLIP Sconces

This pair of 1930’s American art deco “Flip” sconces were designed by Edward Kent for the Railley Corporation of Cleveland, Ohio.  The three graduated  conical shades project light from the top while reflecting light from the spaces between the shades.  Constructed from polished aluminum with black highlights, the sconces “Flip” …. They can function as an ordinary sconce and throw light toward the ceiling or, with the turn of a wing nut, point downward as an excellent reading light.  The aluminum has been polished and the sconces have been rewired.  They are marked on the back “Railley Corp – Cleveland O.” and “Designed by Edward Kent”.  Each sconce measures 18” high with the shade down, 10 ¼” high with the shade up, 14” from the wall and 9 ½” wide.  We have five of these sconces.  You can purchase one, two, three, four or all five.

Pair of American Art Deco Nickel Triple Sconces

This pair of American art deco sconces are from the 1930’s.  Constructed of nickel plated copper, the fixtures center on a demilune bowl which houses the lighting.  Two shades fan out from the top carrying the light upward and reflecting light from their sides.  Two smaller shades extend from the bottom.  The fixtures have been replated and rewired and are ready to hang.  Each measures 12 ½” high, 10 ½” wide and 6” deep.

Four American Art Deco Exterior Wall SConces

This set of four American art deco exterior wall sconces were removed from a 1930’s South Beach building prior to demolition.  The sconces are of heavy cast aluminum in a matte finish with highlights polished to a bright shine.  All feature a frosted glass cover set inside the bowl.  The sconces measure 13” high x 10 ¼” wide and project 10 ½” from the wall.

Italian Art Deco Murano Wall Sconce by Carlo Scarpa

A very special ca 1936 Italian art deco wall sconce by Carlo Scarpa (1906 - 1978) model 425.  The sconce attaches to the wall with a bronze plate.  Six loops of gold flecked Murano glass support a bronze collar and a thick walled cream colored hand blown bowl which, when illuminated, casts a warm glow outward and downward while casting light upward.  The sconce is 15” deep, 11” high and 12” wide.  Rewired for American electricity.

French Art Deco Perzel Peach Wing Sconce

This 1930’s French art deco sconce was designed by Jean Perzel (1892 – 1986). A bronze bowl is extended from a three step bronze wall mount. Three “fins” in peach glass with frosted centers extend from the bowl. Rewired for American electricity the sconce measures 9” high x 10 ½” wide and projects 10” from the wall.

Pair French Art Deco Lucite and Nickel Sconces

We were fortunate to find six of these French 1940’s art deco sconces. With brushed nickel body flanked by Lucite flanges. The sconces feature two light fixtures and wrap-around shades. Each sconce is 15” high; the shades are 16” wide and project 7” from the wall and are rewired for American electricity.  You can purchase two, four or all six sconces.

Pair of French Art Deco Geometric Design Plaster Sconces

This pair of startlingly beautiful geometric French art deco sconces date from the 1940’s. Constructed of plaster and unadorned except for two bronze balls and of course, the electrical fittings. The sconces measure 12” high, 12” wide and extend 7” from the wall.

Pair French Art Deco Nickel and Frosted Glass Scroll Sconces

This pair of two-light French art deco sconces is beautifully worked in scrolls and swirls to show off the bright nickel finish.  The frosted glass gives the "ice" effect.   They measure 20” across and 6 ¾” high and project 12” from the wall. The sconces have been replated and rewired for American electricity.

Pair French Art Deco Alabaster and Bronze Sconces - Style of Sue et Mare

This pair of stylish French art deco wall sconces is in the style of Sue et Mare and dates to the 1920’s.  The gold hued bronze surround is in the form of twin cornucopias with flower heads connected at the base with a floral drop.  The sconces are 20” wide and 9” high.

Pair French Art Deco Bronze Dore and Alabaster Stork Wall Sconces

This superbly crafted pair of French art deco sconces date from the 1920s and are fashioned as a pair of storks.  Constructed of bronze with a gold dore finish, each bird holds an illuminated alabaster shade.  Each sconce is 16" high, 5" wide and projects 7" from the wall.

Pair Nickel French Art Deco Sconces with Opalescent Ice Glass Wings

A beautiful pair of French art deco sconces from the 1930’s.  The fan shaped bright nickel body emits light from the top while two opalescent glass “wings” in the form of melting icicles produce a warm glow.  Each sconce measures 7” high, 5” deep and 10” wide.

Pair Perzel French Art Deco Sconces

This pair of 1930’s French art deco wall sconces was originally designed in 1936 for the Palace of the League of Nations by Jean Perzel (1892 – 1986).  The sconces have a bronze body, brass bowl, frosted glass collar and four individual long cast glass inserts.  Fitted with two bulbs, the sconces cast a white light upward while the collar and cast glass pieces give your room a warm glow.  The scones have been rewired for American Electricity, are impressed “Perzel” and measure 18” wide x 21” tall and project 9” from the wall.

Pair French Art Deco Perzel Streamline Chrome Sconces

This pair of French art deco streamline chrome wall sconces are by Jean Perzel (1892 - 1986) and date from the 1930's.  The 9 1/2" diameter bowl sits on a graceful arm with a square backplate.  The sconces are in good original condition and are rewired for American electricity.  Each sconce measures 9 1/2" wide x 8 1/4" high and 13" deep.

Pair of Large Wrought Iron and Alabaster Sconces in the Style of Paul Kiss

This pair of large hand wrought iron and alabaster wall sconces are quite interesting.  Created in the style of Paul Kiss by a master craftsman, the attention to detail is superb.  The bowl holds two bulbs giving a fine upward light with a warm glow through the alabaster.  The sconces each measure 23 ½” high, 20” wide and project 6 ¾” from the wall.  

Pair of French Art Deco Frosted Glass & Nickel Bronze Sconces

This pair of French art deco frosted glass and nickel bronze sconces date back to the 1930’s.  The frosted glass is cast as a streamline basket with geometric flowers and foliage crowding from the top.  The frosted glass is polished to clear to enhance the design.  The nickel bronze fitting holds a 60 Watt bulb.  The sconces each measure 5 ½” wide x 6” deep and 12” high.

Three Atelier Petito French Art Deco Modernist Sconces

These three 1930’s French art deco sconces are by Atelier Petito.  A similar pair is illustrated in Luminaires Petitot Catalogue as item # 17.514, "Applique Cuivre 1 Lumiere 20 cm.  Panneau glace St. Gobain".  Constructed of bright nickel with clear and frosted St. Gobain glass, the sconces emit light from the top, from the bottom, through a triple layer of clear and frosted glass and thru eight “fins” on the front and sides.  The sconces, which measure 7 ½” deep x 15 ½” wide and 7” high are rewired from American electricity.  They match the Atelier Petito chandelier but are sold separately.

Pair French Art Deco Wall Sconces by Maison Desny

Maison Desny was a small, short lived (1927 – 1933) and influential Paris firm that produced some of the most fantastic metal and lighting objects of the French art deco period.  Partners Clemen Nauny (1900 – 1969) and M. Desnet (- 1933) designed and manufactured this pair of nickeled metal scones ca. 1930.   Rewired for American electricity, the sconces are 9” wide, 14” deep and 14” high.

Pair American Art Deco Geometric Walls Sconces

These “Over the Top” American art deco wall sconces are from the 1920’s. The aluminum body is cast in geometric designs and each sconce holds four brass cylinders. Light is diffused through a frosted glass panel. The sconces each measure 8” wide x 12” high x 3” deep.
