English Art Deco Dunhill Mahogany Humidor

This vintage English art deco standing humidor is by Alfred Dunhill of London. The humidor is constructed of mahogany veneers and solid mahogany. The top section, which would hold several hundred cigars, is cedar lined and copper fitted with a zink humidifier and the ivory tag "Alfred Dunhill of London, New York London Paris". The drawer is also cedar lined with a milk glass bottom and zink humidifier. The humidor is 18" wide, 13" deep and 37" high.

 

French Art Deco Four Leather Sofa and Club Chair Set

This swanky yet comfortable French art deco leather sofa set with two club chairs and ottoman is from the 1930’s. It has been recovered in an authentic tobacco brown leather. The springs have been retied, even the ones in the arms. The three seat "moustache" back sofa is 86" wide, 38" deep and 34" high. Each club chair is 34" wide 35" deep and 32" high. The ottoman is 23" on each side and 19" high.

Four French Art Deco Side Chairs

This set of four classic French art deco side chairs would look smashing around a card table or in a breakfast nook. The chairs are from the 1930’s and have been completely restored. The straight front legs, saber rear legs and wing back have been relacquered in high gloss black lacquer. The seat and back covered in dark blue leather with bright chrome upholstery nails which match the bright chrome sabots on the front feet. The chairs each measure 17 ½" wide, 20" deep and 33" high.

French Art Deco Champagne or Wine Stand

This French art deco champagne or wine stand is from 1920’s. The shaft and foot are sold mahogany, the bottom top and gallery are of a French silver alloy. The top is engraved with a machine décor. The stand is 28" high, 11" in diameter and is in excellent condition

Four British Art Deco Bar Stools by PEL

This set of four British art deco bar stools were made by PEL in 1933.  Founded in Birmingham in 1931 as Practical Equipment Limited, the company changed its name in 1932 to PEL.  The stools are known in company records as “RP14 Bar Stool with back”.  The chrome frame is bright, the seat and back covered in black vinyl and the stools are ready for kitchen or bar.  Each stool is 42 ½” high, 19” deep and 15” wide.  The seat height is 31 ¼”.  FF289

French Art Deco Flame Mahogany Pedestal / Cabinet

This French art deco pedestal is from the 1930’s.  Constructed of solid flame mahogany, the pedestal has a tall door, which opens to reveal shelves showing most unusual hinges.  It has an 11 ½” square base which steps up to the main column with scalloped edges and terminates in a very unusual accordion style.  The pedestal is in excellent original condition, having just been cleaned and polished.

Italian Art Deco Black Lacquer Chair by Guiseppe Pagano

This Italian art deco chair was designed in 1928 –1929 by rationalist architect Guiseppe Pagano (1896 – 1945). Finished in flawless high gloss black lacquer, its clean lines will fit any décor. For all of its visual formality and sculptural qualities, it is surprisingly comfortable. The chair is 26 ½ high, 21" wide and 19" deep.

Set of Four English Art deco “Cloud” Chairs

This set of four English art deco chairs was made in the 1930’s in a style made famous by Harry and Lou Epstein. The chairs are known as "cloud" style due to the scalloped and curved back. The back is burled walnut. The solid walnut legs are saber style in the front and splay in the rear. The chairs are upholstered in ivory raw silk. Each chair is 35 ½" high 21" wide and 21" deep. The chairs are in excellent condition.

 

French Art Deco Carpathian Elm Burl Bed with Inegral Night Stands

This French art deco bed is constructed of rare carpathian elm veneers and is from the 1930’s. The "Wings" on the headboard have nightstands with a drawer, nickel pulls and supports. The headboard is 46" high and 88" wide, the footboard is 24" high and 88" wide. The bed is 82" long and takes a mattress 56" wide and 74" long. The bed is in excellent condition.

 

French Art Deco Palissandre Coffee or Center Table

This French art deco coffee table is from the 1930’s. The top and bottom shelf are covered in fine Palissandre (rosewood) veneers. The legs and arched supports are solid rosewood. The feet are covered in nickel bronze sabots. The table is 33 ½” high and 35 ½” in diameter. The top surface is 31” in diameter.

French Art Deco Emperador Dark Marble and Wrought Iron Console

This French art deco hand wrought iron and marble console is from the 1930’s.  the wall mounted console has two supports of double banded wrought iron.  The supports extend along the base of the marble and fasten to the wall.  The supports also fasten on the bottom curve.  The top is a polished slab of black and tan “Emperador Dark” marble.  The iron and marble are in excellent condition.  The console is 60” wide and can be installed at any height.  It is 19 ½” deep.

French Art Deco Wrought Iron and Miroir Grave Cocktail Table by Rene Druet

This French art deco cocktail table was designed by René Drouet (1899 – 1993) ca. 1939.   The wrought iron base is gilded in gold leaf.  The mirror top is etched from the bottom in arabesque designs filled with gold leaf.  The table is 14” high and 30” in diameter.

Pair of French Art Deco Armchairs by Jean Pascaud

This pair of French art deco fauteuils (arm chairs) are by Jean Pascaud (1903 – 1996).  The chairs, with solid mahogany arms and legs, are finished in high gloss and have been recovered in glove soft black leather with white piping.  The very elegant arms have carved swirl details.  Each chair is 37” tall, 25” wide and 25” deep.

Dominique French Art Deco Occasional Table

[Founded in 1922] 

Founded by Andre Domin (1883 - 1962) and Marcel Genevriere (1885 - 1976). Their showroom was located at 104 Faubourg, St. Honore. Their furniture design was characterized by simplicity and dignity. One of Dominique's first commissions was to provide furniture for the home of silver designer Jean Puiforcat in Biarritz. This was followed by a commission to do the establishment of the perfumer Houbigant in Neuilly. Beginning in 1926 they exhibited with Chareau, Legrain, Puiforcat and Raymond Templier as the "Groupe des Cinq". Dominique exhibited a "Salon d'un Ambassadeur" at the 1925 Paris Exposition International des Arts Décoratifs et Industrieles Modernes. They also exhibited at the Exposition Colonial in Paris in 1931 and created a "Salon de Musique" for the 1937 Exposition Internationale des Arts et Techniques also in Paris. For the great French ocean liner Normandie, launched in 1932, four luxury apartments were commissioned for each by a great French design firm (Leleu, Sue, Montagnac and Dominique). The Rouen suite which Dominique designed "was remarkable for the extremely refined use that Dominique made of materials...unquestionably the most avant-garde of the four talents assigned to the deluxe apartments".
:  Andre Domin (1883 – 1982) and Marcel Genevrier (1885 – 1967) in the 1930’s.  Constructed of northern oak with an Emperador marble inset top, this graceful table has hand carved supports and a flared base.  The table is 27 ¼” tall x 18 ¾” on each side.

Maxime Old French Art Deco Dining Room Suite

This lovely French art deco dining room suite was designed ca. 1942 by Maxime Old (1910 -1991). The suite includes a dining table (with two marching leaves), six chairs, a sideboard with two doors and four drawers and a bar server with a door and a glass display area. The suite is constructed of solid mahogany and and mahogany veneers and has bronze fittings. The sideboard and server have the original Portoro marble tops. The dining table is 71” long (110” with the leaves) 39 ½” wide and 30” high. The server is 51” wide, 38” high and 18 1/2” deep. The sideboard is 79" wide x 20 1/2" deep and 38" high and each chair is 33" high x 18" wide, 17" deep and with a seat height of 19". The set is in excellent original condition.

Jaques Adnet French Art Deco Nesting Tables or Tables Gigognes

This set of three French art deco “tables gigognes” (nesting tables) were designed by Jaques Adnet (1900 - 1984) in the 1930’s. The three tables are finished in rosewood veneers and sit on one inch high indented ebonized wood feet. The tallest table is 20” high and 26” wide. All three tables are 13 ¾” deep. The tables are in good original condition.

French Art Deco Walnut and Silverleaf Occasional Table

This French art deco occasional table is from the 1920’s. The table is of walnut and walnut veneers and water gilded with silver leaf on the corners. The table is 27” high and 20” on each side.

French Art Deco Mahogany Occasional Table

This special French art deco occasional table is from the 1930’s. The table is constructed from figured mahogany and mahogany veneers. Supported by four legs with beveled tops, the table has two levels. The top has four quadrants of book matched stripe mahogany veneers. In the shelf below, there is a small cabinet very cleverly hidden. The table has been refinished and is 24” high and 21” each side and has enough presence to be a coffee table or a side table.

French Art Deco Wrought Iron Hall Tree

A French art deco hand wrought iron hall tree from the 1930's. The hall tree has decorative scrollwork in a sunburst pattern, with a beveled mirror and green marble shelf. It has a shelf for hats, hooks for coats, receptions for umbrellas and canes ... even two holders for gloves. The hall tree is 74" high and 28" wide.

Pair French Art Deco Club Chairs

This pair of French art deco club chairs is from the 1930’s.  The large and comfortable chairs have an exposed beech wood arm that continues to form the front feet.  The wood continues along the side of the chair where it meets the same wood on the chair back.  The wood has been refinished in high gloss clear lacquer and the chairs have been reupholstered.  Each chair is 31” tall, 31” wide and 35” deep.
