Pair French Art Deco Beds by Jacques Adnet

This pair of French art deco beds are by Jacques Adnet (1900 – 1984).  The beds, in rosewood and birch, were exhibited in “Un Chambre de Jeune Fille” in “L’Immeble d’Etat de Brest” in 1947.  They were illustrated in Art et Decoration No. 7, 1947, and are illustrated in Jacques Adnet by Alain Hardy and Gaelle Millet.  Each bed measures 45” wide x 80” long and 44” high at the headboard.

Jacques Adnet French Art Deco Occasional Table

This French art deco occasional table is by Jacques Adnet (1900 – 1984) and is from the 1930’s. Two ends of Rosewood with curved tops are connected by two chrome rods and hold in place a piece of frosted crystal glass. The table measures 35” long x 19 ½” wide and is 25” high.

Jacques Adnet French Art Deco Marble, Brass & Copper Table

This French art deco occasional table was designed by Jacques Adnet ca. 1940 and is of brass and copper with two marble surfaces of black and brown marble with white inclusions. The table is 21” diameter and 22 ¾” high at the table top. The brass and copper have been polished and coated with clear lacquer to prevent tarnish.

Jacques Adnet French Art Deco Walnut Bar

This French art deco bar is by Jacques Adnet (1901-1984) and is from the late 1930’s. It is constructed of walnut and walnut veneers. The large door which centers the bar has veneers radiating into a central square. The door is flanked by two columns with bronze capitals and feet. The bar measures 56 ½” wide x 23 ½ deep and is 41” high.

Jacques Adnet Palissandre Chest

A fine French art deco chest by Jacques Adnet (1901-1984) in Palissandre (Rosewood) veneers with four generous drawers and set on curved steel feet. The cabinet, in excellent original condition, measures 26” wide x 17” deep and stands 42” high.

Set of Twelve Jacques Adnet French Art Deco Chairs

This set of 12 French art deco chairs is attributed to Jacques Adnet (1900 – 1984) and dates from the 1930’s. The chairs feature saber front legs and splay rear legs. The back supports mimic the rear legs and bow out to contain three back splats. With their original green vinyl upholstered seats, the chairs measure 17” wide x 18” deep and are 32” high and are in excellent condition.

Adnet French Art Deco Card Table & Four Chairs

A French art deco card table and four chairs by Jacques Adnet (1900 – 1984) for the Compagnie des Arts Francais dating from the 1940’s. the blond mahogany card table has a white leather play surface with bronze sabots and trim. The four blond mahogany chairs have beige leather trimmed in black and a stylish wooden double “x” back. The table measures 31 ½” on each side and is 28 ½” high. The four chairs each measure 19” wide x 18” deep and are 38 ½” high.

Jacques Adnet French Art Deco Floor lamp

Jacques Adnet (1900 - 1984) designed this beautiful and useful floor lamp shortly after World War II. The adjustable brass shaft sits on three brass feet and is wrapped in saddle stitched blood red leather. The height of the lamp is adjustable from 60” to 79”. A new custom made “No Shadows” silk shade has been installed. The fixture takes three bulbs: a 100 to 300 watt in the center and two round 60-watt bulbs on either side. The lamp has been rewired for American electricity and is in excellent condition.

Jacques Adnet French Art Deco Leather Wrapped Desk & Chair

This rare matching desk and chair by Jacques Adnet (1901 – 1984) dates to ca. 1950. The brass frame is painted black on the legs and leather wrapped on the upper portions. Pulls, trim, sabots and the center rail are all in exposed brass. The top is composition. In overall good original condition, the desk measures 43 ¾” wide, 22 ¼” deep and 29 ½” high. The chair measures 23” wide, 20” deep, 31” high with the seat being 17” high. A similar desk and chair ensemble is pictured in Anne Bony, Les Annees 40, Paris, 1985. p. 441, and Bruno Fourcat and Jean-Louis Gaillemin, Les Décorateurs des Annees 40, Paris, 1998. p. 73.

Jacques Adnet Rolling Bar Cart

A stunning French art deco bar cart by Jacques Adnet (1900-1984) from the 1930s. The cart, in excellent original condition, features a chrome frame on brass wheels with rubber tires. Brass handles are attached with chrome banding. The two tray levels are black glass trimmed with chrome. The cart measures 17-1/2” by 28-1/2” and is 26” high.

Four Adnet Chairs

French art deco at its finest, these four arm chairs were designed by Jacques Adnet (1900 - 1984) in the 1930's. the arms are mahogany stained beech and the seats and backs are tan glove leather. The chairs measure 24" wide x 24" deep and are 33" high in the back.
