GILBERT ROHDE American Art Deco East Indian Laurel Sideboard
Gilbert Rohde (1894 – 1944) designed this iconic three door sideboard for the Herman Miller Furniture Company in 1934. Clad in exotic veneers of East Indian Laurel, the cabinet has door pulls of semi-circular chrome plated steel and ebonized wood. The interior compartments, in blond wood, feature a shelf and various sized drawers. Known as Number 3435, the chest is 48” long, 15” deep and 30” high. It is pictured in Herman Miller 1939 Catalog, Gilbert Rohde Modern Design by Leslie Pina and in Gilbert Rohde, Modern Design for Modern Living, by Phyllis Ross. It is pictured with its matching three level bookshelf which is also available (AF 135) but sold separately.

GILBERT ROHDE American Art Deco East Indian Laurel Bookshelf
Gilbert Rohde (1894 – 1944) designed this rare three level bookshelf for the Herman Miller Furniture Company in 1934. The three levels of East Indian Laurel veneer are connected by two columns of chrome plated steel. The base is ebonized wood. Known as number 3454 the bookshelf is 54” long, 15” deep and 30” high. It is pictured in Herman Miller, 1939 Catalog, Gilbert Rohde Modern Design by Leslie Pina and in Gilbert Rohde, Modern Design for Modern Living, by Phillis Ross. It is also pictured here with its matching three door sideboard listed above and sold separately.

Donald Deskey American Art Deco Occasional Table
Donald Deskey (1894 – 1989) designed this very rare and iconic table ca. 1932 for the S. Karpen & Bros. Furniture Company of Chicago. The table, with three discs of American walnut connected by copper plated steel is 20 ½” high and 17 ½” in diameter. The table is in excellent original condition. A similar table is in the Norwest Collection at the Minneapolis Institute of Art.

Donald Deskey for AMODEC American Art Deco Vanity Mirror and Bench
Donald Deskey (1884 – 1989) designed this three piece vanity for his own company, AMODEC (American Modern Decoration Company) in 1935. Made of Australian Laurel (Oriental Walnut) with burl drawer fronts, mirror trim and feet on the bench, the vanity sports bright nickel pulls on the drawer handles. The three pieces are in excellent condition and restored to their original state of 75 years ago. The vanity retains the distinctive blue and silver AMODEC label and the bench is covered in faux chamois leather. The vanity measures 25 ½” high, 54” wide and 18” deep, the bench 16 ½” high, 21” wide and 15” deep and the mirror is 33 ¼” x 24”.

Pair Dynamique Creations American Art Deco Skyscraper End Tables
This set of high style American art deco end tables was created by Dynamique Creations of Grand Rapids, Michigan in 1928. the skyscraper design end tables are clad in exotic veneers of harewood and vermillion and have bright nickel pulls. Both tables have two wide deep drawers and three open spaces for book storage. One table has three drawers and a door and the other a large door and two drawers. Each piece measures 27” deep, 15” wide and 27” high and would look equally stunning as end tables to a sofa or a daybed.

Donald Deskey American Art Deco Coffee or Occasional Table
Donald Deskey (1894-1989) designed this handsome table in the late 1920's. The table, with chrome plated tubular steel supports and black lacquered wood top, measures 24" in diameter and is 20" high. Deskey licensed the design to Ypsilanti Reed Furniture Company in 1928 and 1929. It was also made for his firm, Deskey-Voller, Inc., at a later date. It is shown in a stock photograph for Ypsilanti Reed (page 48 in David Hanks' book, Donald Deskey Decorative Designs and Interiors) and also in a photograph of his 1931 commission for Frederic Patterson (page 88 in Hanks' book). It is also shown in a period advertisment featuring Deskey for Armstrong cork.

KEM Weber American Art Deco Streamline Triple Band Armchair
K.E.M. Weber (1889 – 1963) designed this streamline American art deco triple band armchair for the Lloyd Manufacturing Company. The chair features machine age triple band chrome arms enclosing a sprung leather seat and back. The chrome and leather are all in good original condition. This model was featured in Lloyd’s 1939 catalog. The chair measures 28 ½” wide x 42” deep and 32 ½” high.

GILBERT ROHDE AMERICAN ART DECO WORLDS FAIR CHEST
Gilbert Rohde (1894-1944) designed this rare chest of drawers for the Herman Miller Furniture Company in 1933. It made its debut as part of the # 3317 Modern Bedroom Group exhibited at the 1933 Chicago World’s Fair in the “Design for Living House”. Constructed of exotic castano wood with sequoia burl door fronts with three “speed lines” of harewood, the chest has six drawers inside. Measuring 34” wide x 18 ½” deep and 45” high, the chest has the Worlds’ Fair Label.

American Art Deco FLETCHER Aviation Desk
This large and unusual American art deco desk was designed by Frank Fletcher and manufactured by Fletcher Aviation in Pasadena, California. A Design Patent “140,501” was issued to Fletcher in 1945. The desk, which has been refinished in high gloss black lacquer floats on a nickel steel base. The triangular desk has rounded corners, seven drawers with inset pulls and has the brass placque “Fletcher Aviation – Putting Wings on the World” inside the middle drawer. The desk is 72” wide x 48” deep and 30” high
